Is there a membership fee?

The Design Mile is supported by the members who use it, to ensure that the ratings remain honest and unbiased. The membership fee includes actual staff support — we're available by phone or email to help you find the best service for your project as well as assist you when a contractor doesn't perform the quality of work that you expected. Additionally, a portion of your membership fee covers the cost of your monthly The Design Mile magazine. Here's a breakdown of our membership payment plan options:

Monthly Payment Plan: Our monthly payment plan provides an opportunity to become a member with the lowest upfront cost possible. It also allows budget conscious consumers an opportunity to spread the cost of their membership over 12 calendar months. Members who choose the monthly plan enjoy continuous service billed to their credit card each month. Finally, members who chose the monthly payment plan may cancel their subscription or change to an annual membership at any time. Sorry, no refunds.

Annual Payment Plan: Our annual payment plan provides uninterrupted access to our service for an entire year (or more). Members who choose an annual payment option enjoy significant discounts, and their investment is protected by our 110% money-back guarantee. If an annual subscriber is dissatisfied with our service, we refund 110% of his/her membership fee. Thus, it's a risk- free way to try us out! Members who choose the annual plan also enjoy continuous service billed to their credit card. However, annual subscribers receive a notice about two months prior to their membership's expiration date reminding them of the date upon which their membership will be automatically renewed if we do not hear from them prior.

**All The Design Mile members pay a one-time Signup Fee when their membership is activated. Members are not charged this fee again, unless they choose to re-activate their membership after their MONTHLY subscription has been expired for 30 days or their ANNUAL subscription has been expired for more than 180 days.

Does The Design Mile offer a trial membership?

Nope. But if you don't like it, you get your money back. (Annual memberships only.)

Why would I use The Design Mile when I can just ask my neighbors for recommendations?

How long would it take you to find 25 people who have all used the same contractor and then conduct an in depth interview with them about their service experience? Spend hours on the phone, or just log onto The Design Mile and find trustworthy contractors with a proven track record in minutes.

What if I sign up and don't like it?

You get your money back. We have a 110% money-back guarantee.
(For annual memberships only.)

How do I renew my The Design Mile membership?

Monthly Payment Plan: Each month, monthly membership dues are billed to the credit card on file at The Design Mile. Monthly renewal payments take place on each member's expiration date (which can be found on the My The Design Mile page of the website). If the first attempt to renew a membership fails, an auto renewal program attempts to process the renewal for approximately 30 days. No reminder notices are sent to members who have chosen the monthly payment plan. Cancellation requests must be received no later than 5pm on the day prior to any scheduled renewal payment.

Annual Payment Plans: Annual membership dues may be renewed by credit card, cash or check. Most members who choose to pay by credit card are also enrolled in our auto renewal program. These members receive a reminder notice approximately two months prior to their membership's annual expiration date. The notice reminds members that we will renew their membership using the credit card on file unless we receive a cancellation request prior to the scheduled renewal date. If the first attempt to renew a membership fails, an auto renewal program attempts to process the renewal for approximately 90 days. Members that would like to opt out of the auto renewal program may do so by contacting The Design Mile via phone, fax, e-mail or US mail. Members that do not participate in the auto renewal program receive a paper renewal notice approximately 2 months prior to their memberships expiration date. These members may then pay by credit card, cash or check at their convenience.

How do I cancel my The Design Mile membership?

Any The Design Mile membership may be canceled by phone, email, fax or U.S. mail. Please include your name, address and phone number in any written cancellation requests.

Monthly Payment Plans: Cancellation requests must be received no later than 5pm on the day prior to any scheduled renewal payment. Reminder notices are not sent to members who have chosen the monthly payment plan, and refunds for monthly membership payments are not available.

Annual Payment Plans: Cancellation requests should be received by the date specified in the reminder notice. These notices should be received approximately two months prior to each member's annual expiration date. All annual membership payments are backed by a 110% satisfaction guarantee.
